Mercedes Francis Roessler was born on 15 October 1925 at Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Adolph Roessler and Genevieve McCarville. Mercedes Francis Roessler married Hilary C. Mack on 3 June 1947. Mercedes Francis Roessler died on 7 September 2004 at Sauk Praire, Sauk, Wisconsin, at age 78; Mercedes F. Mack, 78, of Sauk City, died on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie.
Mrs. Mack was born on Oct. 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Adolph and Genevieve (McArville) Roessler. She was united in marriage to Hilary Mack on June 3, 1947.
Mrs. Mack was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women, Royal Neighbors of America, American Legion Auxiliary and the Red Hatters.
Mrs. Mack is survived by her six children, Veronica (Terry Smart) Mack, of Madison, Donna Rae (Bill Murphy) Mack, of Centerville, Mass., Dennis Mack, of Milwaukee, Joe Mack, of Sauk City, Natalie (David) Vakauta, of Bradenton, Fla. and Neil (Sherri Ganser) Mack, of Merrimac; six grandchildren, Stephanie Smart, Scott Mack, Daniel Mack, Diana Mack, Samuel and Gabriel Mack; five sisters, Joan (Rodney) Premo, of Prairie du Sac, Maxine (Del) Hambrecht, of Sauk City, Collett (Jim) McFarlane, of Waunakee, Donna Fay (Sylvester) Statz, of Cross Plains and Loretta (Peter) Dooley, of Madison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 27, 1989; a daughter, JoAnn in 1992 and two sisters, Mary Veronica Flauger and Polly Mallon.
A Mass of Christian burial was at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City on Sept. 10 with Fr. Kevin D. Holmes and Fr. John Meinholz concelebrating. Burial was in the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or Home Health United, Sauk Prairie.

toward developing this section of a peculiarly rich and prosperous Wisconsin

Mr. Dederich was born in Bear Valley of Richmond County, Wisconsin,
October 9, 1862, a son of A. D. and Mary (Schaefer) Dederich.
His father came from Germany in 1848, the year that marked the revolution
in that country and the exodus of so many of its best citizens
to America. He and his wife were married at Roxbury, Wisconsin.
A. D. Dederich was a wagon maker by trade, but he finally turned to
farming and acquired 550 acres. Taking this land in a rough and wild
state, he cleared most of it and was in very prosperous circumstances
when he died October 20, 1898. His widow passed away October 20,
1892. Their children were Margaret, Gertrude, Peter, Adolph, Tony,
Dennis, Gerhard, Ramie, Francis and Joseph.
Dennis H. Dederich grew up on his father's farm, was educated in the
local schools, and at an early age began farming on his own responsibility.
He established himself at his present home in Bear Creek Township
December 1, 1903. Here he owns 200' acres and thirty acres were cleared
up by his own hands. He has built a good house and barns and is conducting
a model dairy of thirty-one cows, while he has about forty-two
head of cattle. Mr. Dederich is independent in politics and a member of
the Catholic Church.
He married Philomena Weiser, daughter of Frank and Genevieve
(Langer) Weiser, of Bear Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Dederich have six children,
named Genevieve, Philomena, Joseph, Gertrude, Margaret and
Hilda, all of whom have been carefully educated in the public schools. Dennis Hubert Dederich was also known as D. H. Dennis Hubert Dederich was also known as D. Hubert. He was listed in Anton D. Vincent J. Phelan married Betty Swanson. Vincent J. Phelan was born on 13 November 1921 at Spring Green, Sauk, Wisconsin. He was the son of Vincent Lawrence Phelan and Rosella Ring. Vincent J. Phelan died on 27 August 2004 at age 82; Vincent J. "Vince" Phelan, age 82, passed away at home on Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, on the seven year anniversary of his beloved wife Betty's passing. He was born on Nov. 13, 1921, in Spring Green, to Vincent and Rosella (Ring) Phelan. Vince was a graduate of Madison East High School. After graduation he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Upon his return from service, he married the love of his life, Betty (Swanson) Phelan. They shared 48 happy years together. They worked together at Oscar Mayer for more than 30 years. Vince was active as a union steward and proud to work to better the working conditions of his brothers and sisters of Local Union No. 538 UFCW. They retired to Clearwater, Fla., where they lived until returning to Madison in 1997. Vince was politically active in the Democrat party. Vince was a loving, caring and compassionate man with a great sense of humor, remarkable memory, and zest for life. He made a lasting impression on all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him. Vince was born with the gift of conversation. He could talk with anyone about any subject. He loved people. He taught us many important lessons, the greatest being to love one another. He was blessed to be surrounded his entire life by good friends and loving family who cared for him until his passing. He appreciated all the care and comfort his family so generously gave him. He is survived by two sisters, Marguerite Hanson and Betty Ann Sperstad; a brother, Dennis (Joan) Phelan; sisters-in-law, Dori and Shirley Phelan; brother-in-law, Jim Powers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; his brothers, Donald, William and Michael; and sisters Rosemary (Powers) Phelan and Patti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens with military rites to be conducted by the Madison Area Firing Squad. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. We will miss you dearly, but you will be in our hearts forever.

Dennis Daniel Phelan was born on 4 December 1928 at Madison, Dane, Wisconsin. He was the son of Vincent Lawrence Phelan and Rosella Ring. Dennis Daniel Phelan died on 15 December 2005 at age 77; Dennis Daniel Phelan, age 77, passed away quietly at home on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, after a battle with cancer. He was born on Dec. 4, 1928, in Madison, the son of Vincent and Rosella (Ring) Phelan. Dennis grew up in Madison and graduated from Madison East High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. Upon returning from the military, he was united in marriage to Joan Lamoreux on Jan. 24, 1953. Dennis worked for Madison Forestry Department, Frito Lay, and McGovern Oil. He was a longtime suffering Cubs fan, and also liked the Chicago Bears, much to the chagrin of his Packer loving family. Dennis was very proud of his Irish heritage. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan; three sons, James (Denise), Thomas, and Dennis M. (Dawn); a daughter, Diane (Larry Raney); six grandchildren, Jeremy, Sara, Ryan, Erika, Kristin, Jessica; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marguerite Hanson and Betty Sperstad. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vince, Bill, Don, and Mike; and sisters, Rosemary and Patricia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, with Monsignor Michael Hippee presiding. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, for the burial at Highland Memory Gardens with military rites conducted. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, and at the church from 4:30 until the time of the service on Monday.
