About Us
Pat and I both grew up in the mid-west—Vicki in Wisconsin and Pat in Iowa. We both developed a love for the outdoors and beautiful colorful scenery.
Pat and I have had a camera in our hands since high school. Combined, we have been taking pictures for over ninety years. More recently, in the past fifteen years, we have been traveling to many places in the world taking photos of places and scenes that many people dream of and have seen but unfortunately may not have been able to capture the beauty of the moment. Thanks to our children’s foreign assignments, we have been to many places in Europe, Australia, Canada and Mexico. In addition we have had many trips here in the beautiful United States.
We have had the pleasure of taking one bike trip in the Loire Valley in France, and another along the Danube from Germany to Vienna, Austria. Seeing the many chateaus, including Chambord and Chenonceaux, two of Francois the First's many magnificent homes was a treasure. Picturesque Amboise is also famous as the burial place of Leonardo DeVince, a truly great inventor many years ahead of his times. Omaha Beach, Honfleur, St. Michelle and Giverney bring fond memories and a tear to your eye as great places in the history of Europe as well as signicant to our heritage. Europe is a land of enchantment and a history document roled into one.
We have been very fortunate to have traveled to over 20 countries, as seen in many of the folders on our website. Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, Germany , Belgium and many more have given us the pleasure of their sights and culture as seen through the lens of a camera. There is beauty and enchantment everywhere you go. Mountains and water will always provide vistas and views that take your breath away and call you back time and time again. Thanks to modern technology, chips have replaced film, allowing for many more pictures without the fear of losing the film or experiencing difficulty getting it through Customs when coming home.
Other travels include Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Italy, and others. Of all the places we have traveled Vicki’s favorite remains Stockholm, Sweden. Just ask her about Old Town or our Granddaughter who lives there! On the other hand, every day can bring a different answer to our favorite place. We have great stories about so many places we've had the privilege to visit and taste the culture.
Within the United States, we have taken outstanding photos of the Grand Canyon as seen from a helicopter as well as a walk to the bottom of the canyon; watched the leaves turn from green to bright gold and in Estes Park, Colorado; and got soaked in the mist at Niagara Falls. And don't forget the Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona. What spectacular country. Alaska is another part of our great country not to be overshadowed in it's beauty, serenity and breathtaking scenery.
